親しくお付き合いさせていただいている自動車版画家　牧田哲明氏をご紹介しましょう。

若いころからアルファロメオというイタリア製の自動車の造形に魅せられ、その造形を木版画という伝統的テクニックを使って表現しています。

題材の多くはミッレ・ミリアやタルガ・フロリオというイタリアで開催されていたレースから取られています。

また、モンテレー・ヒストリック・オートモビル・レースのマスター・アーティストとして主催者スティーヴン・アールが選ばれた参加者にプレゼントするための作品も永年作っていました。当該作品は下記”作品目録”からご覧いただけます。

Let me introduce my favorite artist and an adorable friend, Mr. Tetsuaki Makita, an Automobile Woodblock Artist.

Mr. Makita has been fascinated in the figure of Alfa Romeo, and expressing her beauty by using Woodblock Print, which is rather classic and traditional technique.

Many theme are taken from the scenes of Italian races, such as Mille Miglia or Targa Frolio.

Mr. Makita has been prepared special gift from the Steven Earle, organizer of "Monterey Historic Automobile Races", given to only selected participants, as a Master Artist of the event.  You may find the artworks from "Catalogue Raisone" below.
